Management of Licensed Premises 

The Australian Hotels Association (WA) provides a Management of Licensed Premises (MLP) course, known as (MLP1), for Licensees and unrestricted Approved Managers who have already completed the Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course. The nationally accredited RSA training course, also offered by the AHA, is a pre-requisite for the MLP course. 

The MLP1 Course is the mandatory training required for Approved Managers to lodge an application for Approval to manage licensed premises in WA. 

An Approved Manager must be appointed to supervise and manage a licensed premise at all times when business is being conducted on the premises. The MLP course covers the required knowledge as well as common issues and management practices in relation to the management of legislative responsibilities for the sale, supply and service of liquor in Western Australia. 

The AHA provides both an online approved managers course and a classroom approved managers training course. The online MLP1 course allows you to complete the course in the comfort of your own home or office at your own pace. The MLP1 classroom training with the AHA allows you to train with the experts. MLP1 course participants will cover a variety of content including how to Identify and apply legislative requirements, how to operate in accordance with licence conditions, the importance of properly maintaining records and Interaction with regulatory agencies.

Upon completion of your MLP course, students will receive a nationally accredited approved manager certificate.

Avoiding a breach of the Liquor Control Act


The Australian Hotels Association (WA) supports Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements and is the industry leader in delivering online RSA courses and RSA training in Perth WA. 

Following and understanding the provisions of the Liquor Control Act (LCA) carefully will ensure that licensees avoid a breach and the possible result of an infringement being issued.
