10 January 2025 | The Australian Hotels Association (WA) has welcomed today’s announced commencement of the $55 million Perth Cultural Centre rejuvenation project, with CEO Bradley Woods highlighting the transformative impact the redevelopment will have on Perth’s tourism, hospitality and cultural industries.
The project, jointly funded by the Cook and Albanese Labor Governments, will create a vibrant and accessible hub connecting Western Australia’s iconic cultural institutions, including the Art Gallery of WA, WA Museum Boola Bardip, and the State Library of WA.
Comments attributed to Bradley Woods, CEO of the Australian Hotels Association (WA):
“The Perth Cultural Centre rejuvenation will have a significant impact for tourism and hospitality in Perth and Western Australia. This project will breathe new life into our city, creating a vibrant cultural destination for visitors from across the state, the country and the globe.
“The enhanced public spaces, improved accessibility and expanded hospitality offerings will provide a significant boost to Perth’s CBD, benefiting local hotels, restaurants, cafes and small businesses.
“By creating a welcoming, modern and vibrant cultural hub, this redevelopment will help position Perth as a must-visit destination for travellers and ensure it remains at the forefront of Western Australia’s cultural and tourism economy.
“The inclusion of enhanced hospitality facilities, green spaces and a large screen for live event broadcasts will complement the existing cultural offerings, making the precinct a hub of activity for locals and tourists alike.
“The Australian Hotels Association (WA) commends the Cook and Albanese Governments for their investment in this transformative project, which will play a key role in revitalising the Perth CBD, supporting jobs and driving economic growth.”
